Following the capital side’s 6-2 demolition of Sevilla, the Brazilian left-back has vowed to fight for wins in the club’s remaining league matches against Getafe, Villarreal and Almeria.
"We were very focused and we need to continue playing like this in the three remaining matches," Marcelo told reporters after the match.
“Our goal is to always win, but if we can put on a show as well, even better. We will fight until the very end.”
Pepe echoed his team-mate’s remarks, saying it is a tremendous privilege to play for the European giants.
“We must always honour the Real Madrid shirt,” the former Porto man said. “We took care of business and played a great match.”
Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed the headlines on Saturday night by scoring four times, and Pepe was quick to congratulate the man who now leads the Pichichi standings ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
“Cristiano is very happy,” the centre-back revealed. “We all helped him remain calm. Tonight he proved just how great a player he is and what he is capable of. It's so nice to have him on our team.”
