Midfield player Joe Cole is set to end his nightmare year with Liverpool by leaving the Merseysiders at the end of the season and joining Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
The England international only arrived at Anfield last summer, joining the Reds on a free transfer, with a lucrative signing-on fee and wages worth a reported £100,000 a week.
However, it has not worked out quite how Cole would have hoped for in the intervening months, with a combination of a total loss of form resulting from a serious knee injury which the playmaker suffered while playing for Chelsea, and a lack of games leading to the player barely featuring for the club.
And, since caretaker manger Kenny Dalglish took over from Roy Hodgson, Cole has only been trusted to start a couple of Europa League games, with him now having confided in friends that he made a mistake in choosing Liverpool over Tottenham in the first place.
